Documentation for creating Mods and Contributions?

Where does one go to learn the ins and outs of creating a contribution to extend the core functionality of Zen-Cart? Is there a set of guidelines / rules about how to do this?

For example, I want to sell a product that required additional fields in the database to describe it. If I want to write and package a contribution to do this, where do I start to learn about it?

I've looked through the forums for "add-on" and "contribution" and can't seem to find any guidelines.

First you might want to have a look at the Product Type Contrib for Books as it has all of the functionality laid out as an example. Then have a look in the Wiki.

I'm not able to find that product type contrib for books. Is it still available?

Click "downloads" at the top of this page
Click on "Product Types"
Find the Book option and download it.

Right. There are only three contributions there:

Auction Product Type
dgReviews
Value GV-Mod

Which one of these is the Book option?
