Manufatures Side Box is not showing up

I don't know why, but I want to have the manufacturers show up on the sidebox and it isn't. I have it enabled in layout settings. Please help..

Do you have manufactuers defined?

Do you have any products?

Hi, I do have the manufactures setup in the configuration. I have the sample db still with all the sample content lik, microsoft etc. I am not sure where else to check.
