Shipping doesn't calculate correctly

I also posted this in the GV forum, but I think it's the shipping mod. My original thread is

I have table-rate shipping. When I put something ONLY w/ free shipping into my cart, it works fine. When I add an item w/ a shipping charge along w/ a free shipping item, then the shipping is calculated based on the total price, including the free shipping item. i.e. I add a $2 item and a $40 gift cert, shipping is 5.50. It's supposed to be $2.

I removed and installed all the modules several times. This is an upgrade from 1.3.6 to 1.3.7.

After more testing, this only happens w/ VIRTUAL products w/ ATTRIBUTES. Is it safe to say it's a bug?

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

Is the Gift Certificate marked as a Virtual Product?

Does the Model number on the Gift Certificate start with:
GIFT

in all caps?

What are your settings on the Table Shipping Module?

Are you using Item, Price or Weight?

If Weight, what are your Tare settings in the Shipping/Packaging? The default is to add 3lbs ...

GC is marked virtual w/ normal shipping rules.

Model starts w/ GIFT in all caps.

Shipping module:
Enable: true
Shipping table: 9.99:2.00,19.99:3.50,34.99:4.50,49.99:5.50,10000:0.00
Table method: price
Handling fee: 0
Tax class: taxable goods
Tax basis: shipping
Shipping zone: us
Sort order: 0

Using Price as the basis.

I take back that it happens to virtual products only - it happens to normal products also. I posted a thread in Bugs section...
