Advice please - 'Proper way' to do cc payments (In the UK)

Hi all.

I've got my site well on the way, but I would like some assistance with taking payments here in the UK.

I want a solution where everything is done on my site. Like other I don't like re-directing for payment.

So, I assume I need to use https. That I can do.

So, do you have a UK website taking CC and debit Card payments with them integrated in the site?

What advice would you give, which payment module do I need, is there anything else to consider?

Cost isn't too big a deal, though ideally there would be a 'per transaction' cost but not an ongoing monthly charge too.

I need a step by step guide really, I'm finding the payments thing hard to get answers on.....
