What happened to my sub categories?

I'm using zen cart 1.3.7.

Under this category is one more, but it's not showing.

Any idea of what flag I need to set? I went into admin -> Configuration -> Layout Setting and Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories 1 is already set.

There are several settings on SubCategory display ...

For the Categories Sidebox is the setting you referred to:

Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories
Always Show Categories and SubCategories
0= off, just show Top Categories
1= on, Always show Categories and SubCategories when selected

For displaying SubCategories in the middle of the page in the Configuration ... Product Listings ...

Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating
Show Sub-Categories on Main Page while navigating through Categories

0= off
1= on

For how many categories to display per row, look in the Configuration ... Maximum Values:

Categories To List Per Row
How many categories to list per row

I left the maximum rows at the default, so, set at 3 rows... in fact I hadn't touched any of these configuration variables and had left them at their default settings.

ps no doubt this is going to be one of those silly mistakes...

Of course I support Zen Cart ... I write it ... :cool:

Now, let's try switching the site to Classic ...

Does it work?

Make sure also that Categories are Active as in Green Icon ...

Make sure you have not mixed Products and Categories in the same Category ...

You are so right, switching to Classic fixed the problem, so now I just need to track down where the silverfish template differs from the classic template.

I did switch from creLoaded to Zen Cart and was happy to see you working here :).

I will be submitting a mod or two that I will be converting from osc for my current client(s).

It was indeed a silly mistake - I'd edited tpl_index_categories.php to move the category listing above the main page welcome text, and messed up the if statements...sigh....

All fixed now.
