Order System is messed up

i have made myself a 100 gift voucher so i can test my shop

I bought 1 item and it added another item on the order, and didnt charge me

1 Large boot £20
1 piece of paper £4
Order total £4
postage £2.50
Total £6.50
gift voucher - £6.50
nothing to pay

But i was like i never ordered the boot

Please help as my site is due to launch soon , is it due to the gift voucher or a error in the shopping cart?!?!

Hi there
Is your plan that your main business will be gift vouchers?

If not may I suggest that you start testing with placing regular orders and pay using paypal or whatever your main payment method will be. For this purposes setup a test product that costs 2 cents and setup your flat rate shipping charge also at 2 cents. You can now do extensive testing will real results and it will not cost much. Please remember if using paypal you will need a different account wilt paypal then the one you are using as your mercahnt account.
