UPS shipping problem

I know this and have done so many times. It should however be part of the core since it's a potential useability issue for users who don't know how to modify the system, or even know that the problem might exist.

Also, days ago you spewed out rates that you got from there site. It was not made clear that I could resolve the problem by enabling additional shipping options.

But hey, no harm no foul right? I simply wasted a lot of time provided examples of what I was working with. Saying "of course it's not working, you're not turning on what is needed for that region" would have saved a lot of aggravation (like the time wasted messing with the tare system which was not even part of the real issue)

i was just trying to test the UPS hipping module and it doesn't work for my store at all i must be missing something.

We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown.

First make sure that you have installed the USPS January 4, 2010 Patch:

This is a good time to install all other Security Patches ...

Also note, that the Known Bug Fixes for v1.3.8 should be applied:

Or, take the time to upgrade to v1.3.9d so that you have the latest Zen Cart that include all of these and more ...

Is this a Clean v1.3.9d that you were testing on ... or is this an Upgraded v1.3.9d that you were testing on?

In the Tools ... Debug Tool Kit ... do a search in the bottom input box for:
usps.php

what is the version id that comes up?

Did you do a Save existing settings, REMOVE, INSTALL and Reconfigure on the Modules ... Shipping ... for USPS and any other shipping module that you are using?

it is a bran new install on an upgraded old database, i'll tackle this module again in a few hrs

1 be sure that you have done the:
Save Settings to NotePad
REMOVE
INSTALL
Reconfigure

2 Make sure you have your My Store settings correct

3 Make sure you have a 5 digit US Zip Code set in Shipping/Packaging

What is your Ship From address?

What is your Ship To address?

What is the weight of the order?

What are your settings in Shipping/Packaging?

we are located in canada does that have something to do with it?

Yes it does ... the built in UPS module is for the US ... look in the Free Software Add Ons and there should be the UPS XML shipping module for those outside of the United States ... :smile:
