removing ip address... screw things up

Hey all. Well I am finally upgrading to 1.3.7, taking my time and doing a real nice job with the layout. Well, its in the process like I said.

Anyway. I don't want to show the ip address because that makes some people (namely me probably) uncomfortable. So i went and removed it. Well... then it screws up my whole footer area. Makes my darn Home link sit right squat on top of my copyright information.

Anyway to fix this? I've played around with the CSS about as much as possible, tried just about everything with the CSS i can possibly do... I'm at my wits end with this thing.

Re: removing ip address... screw things up

Have you tried giving #navSupp a margin-bottom, or #siteInfoLegal a margin-top?

Either of those or a couple of others should give you some space there.

#navSupp {margin-bottom: 2em;} gives a nice big space. You will have to add this whole thing - it's not declared in the stock install.

There's an admin switch for turning off the IP Address display.

Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings

'Footer - Show IP Address status' set to 0 = Off

Re: removing ip address... screw things up

Hi. Thanks, I had tried the "nav sup" several different times but it didnt work. There had been nothing available for the sitelegalinfo except for text size and centering, so i didnt think to change it, but now I did and it worked perfectly at 2ems.

Thanks again!

There is a switch in admin/configuration for turning it off, without editing any files. Check it out.
