Go to Checkout... goes to blank page and hangs

Greetings, relative newbie here. I recently moved my live site "houseofjoypublishing.com/catalog" to a new server (same host) because of speed issues. Now, on the new server, site is faster, but shopping cart is malfunctioning.

When clicking "go to checkout" the site goes to this URL: https://www.houseofjoypublishing.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=checkout_shipping

and just hangs. Now that I see the URL, I see that it's going to SSL, but I have SSL set to false in both /includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php.

Any ideas why this is hanging? Thanks mucho for your help.

I hate to ask ... but if this is faster ... when you were on the other server did your site even move? :eek:

This appears to be an awfully slow server ...

Your secure site to your main domain is coming up with a directory listing ... this has another subdirectory in it that has some kind of site that doesn't work properly ...

I'd check with your hosting site and see if they have moofed up on the transfer or something odd ...

Thanks, Ajeh. Yah, this is FAST compared to the old server. The old server had 15 second page loads. Yah, I'm trying to salvage this install just to get the site online, then find alternative hosting in the meantime.

I'll go back to the host and see what's up with the directory listing on the secured site.

I am also having some of my pages hanging.

checkout_shipping, checkout_payment, checkout_confirmation are the pages that hang for me. I am using 1.3.7, please help me. I am new to zen cart, and I been working to get my store online for 6mo.

First hit to your server hangs and most likely it is because your server is not optimized to hand gethostaddress so it has to look this up when someone comes to the site ...

Your 60k images are a tad large ... you should optimize them ...

Your Create Account hangs ... refresh attempts to fix this but throws an error as it did create the account ...

Your checkout_payment hangs ...

This strikes me as files that did not upload properly ...

Is this a clean install or an upgrade?

How did you upload your files to your site?

How did you upgrade?

If you switch to Classic Template ...

Can you create a new account?

Can you get to and complete checkout?

I am going to have to check with my host to see if they can get the server optimized to hand gethostaddress.

As of the image, I just got software to help with optimizing them. Thanks for the heads up.

I did switch to Classic Template and still hanging up with creating a new account. (was not hanging up on creating a new account last night for me) It is setting up the acct, just not letting customer know that it was done. Also payment still hangs also. do you think I will need to reinstall the cart??

I am learning as I go, hard way to do it but I am learning lots. I had the cart all install and running just needed to add something to sell when I tried to upgrade by myself and I deleted the whole dam site.
I then had my host reinstall the new cart for me, and I did my custom template as before.

Do you think it can be fixed or do I need to have my host reinstall the cart?

Also where would I find the code to move the logo in the header from top, left to center left? I found a page about it on the FAQ, but I am not able to get it to just move down.

and how would I remove the white line above the header?

I have been playing around with the settings, I have changed a-lot on the template but I am not able to find how to do that.

Had my host reinstall the cart for me. All is well now.
Still need to do some upgrades and changes to the template, but over all it looks good.
