alt tags

I am creating several sites, based upon the readily available templates, and I have come up with a question that I can't seem to find an answer to... So any help would be greatly appreciated...

Is there some menu item in admin to 'turn on alt tags', or is this a code issue within the CSS or other template related files?

In one template/site, the alt tags seem to be enabled on every image and they display the product/item name/title...

On another template/site, there are no alt tags being displayed at all...

And of course I want to take every possible SOE advantage that I can for any search engines that may award points for alt tags as well as provide the info for the visitor when they mouse over...

I have searched thru the stylesheets and several files between these two templates and I haven't found anything that is obvious...

I have searched thru the entire menu system in admin, item by item, and haven't found anything that wppears to do this...

So, once again I am nocking at the forum's door with hat in hand...

Also - any opinions on the new book??? I just ordered a copy tonight, hoping that it is better than the previous ZenCart book...

Not sure about the generation of the alt tags, but I can assure you that the new book is excellent! However, I must stress that it is a User Manual covering everything in the admin, but it is NOT - and was never intended to be - a Developers Handbook.
