Set up USPS for retail orders and UPS for wholesale orders.

Is there a simple way to only show USPS for all retail orders? And at same time only show UPS shipping module for wholesale orders?

Righ now, my wholesale price is set up using Discount Group.

I worked something out. This is no longer an issue.

What was your workaround? I'm interested because I have a similar issue :)

The main reason I want only use USPS for retail orders is I haven't had time to export the address in csv file for UPS. Otherwise, I don't mind shipping UPS for retail order if they want to pay extra. For time being, I don't wan to deal with it.

My workaround is just offering free shipping vis usps first class for retail orders. ;-)

Most customers will go for it. Every now and then we get a customer want to get the stuff in 2 days and want to ship vis UPS which is displayed as an option. It hasn't been too bad.

When you say your wholesale pricing is set up using discount groups, are you just using the discount group feature as is, or are you using the dual pricing mod? I found a fix on the forum that works for the discount groups as is, but I modified it to work with the dual pricing mod :D I'll go find it and post it for you, it's great! It shows the retail shipping options to retail customers and the wholesale shipping options to wholesale customers!

I installed Online Group pricing mod that displays the discounted price. I am all set there... :cool:

On the other hand dual pricing didn't work for me because I have stock by attributes mod and running 1.3.6. I was hoping it would work. But...

If you're using the dual pricing mod, go into includes/modules/shipping/ and then the file for whichever shipping method you're using for your wholesale customers, e.g. table.php. Find this section:

And change it to this:

I bolded the number 1 in the above code, that is the number of your wholesale price level. My client is only using one wholesale price level, so I didn't go any further then that, but I'm sure it could be modified to work with multiple price levels.

That code will make it so that retail customers will not see the wholesale shipping options. If you want to take it a step further and make it so that wholesale customers cannot see the retail shipping options, go into includes/modules/shipping/ and then the file for whichever shipping method you're using for your retail customers, e.g. flat.php. Find this section:

if ( ($this->enabled == true) && ((int)MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_ZONE > 0) ) {

And change it to this:

What didn't work with this? It seems to be working good for us, I've got these both installed in a 1.3.7 install though so maybe that is what is made the difference. I'd like to make sure I haven't missed anything though :)

Thanks for the information! I haven't tried 1.3.7. I am sure some of the things will be fixed. I am waiting for a couple other things before I upgrade.
