Checkout Without Account Mod problem found
Hi, dear all. I'm using COWOA(1.3.8) with Zen Cart 1.3.8a.
If a person once checks out without an account, there will be no problem for him/her sign up with a regular account with the same email address used for the checkout without an account option.
However, when the he/she log in with his/her regular account and try to the change the account information like the name or telephone by pressing update. There will be a warning like that
"Our system already has a record of that email address - please try logging in with that email address. If you do not use that address any longer you can correct it in the My Account area."
It seems that with the email address used firstly COWOA and then signed up for a regular account poses this problem.
Maybe this has been discussed before. Please somebody helps. Thanks a lot!
Yes a person can use a COWOA email address to sign up for a non-COWOA account later on, but no.... a person cannot change their regular account email address to an email address used previously for COWOA (unless you have deleted that COWOA account). The person who wrote the mod wrote it in a way that allows a duplicate email during sign up and he probably didn't think about the problem you are discussing.
Remember that this mod doesn't really create a true COWOA account because Zen itself isn't created that way. The purpose of the mod is to fool the customer into thinking they are not creating an account. Personally, I delete all of my COWOA customers from the database as soon as I process their order. If you did the same, you wouldn't have the problem you are asking about. The customer would be able to use that COWOA email address when changing regular account info. I know this is probably not the "fix" you are asking for, but there is no one who knows Zen code that is willing to make COWOA do what everyone wants. We are pretty much stuck with it the way it is.
