New User: Payment Options

Dear Friends,

I am based in Singapore and have recently installed my zencart. I also have a account with seller paypal.

I would like to know what options do I get to setup payment processing.

1. Can I directly accept CC details and validate it on my site? What would I need to to do for this? I saw that paypal has such an option (API ?) but I don't really want to pay monthly processing fees. I am a startup not sold a single item yet :(. Maybe in a few months when luck favors me.

2. How do I configure the Paypal payment option where for billing the visitor is redirected to paypal ? Is this a good idea? I guess this is my best start?

3. Are there any other better options?

I really need help here :) and appreciate the same.

I am a first time zencart user and wanted to see what my options are for online payment processing.

What I want -

I'd like the credit card details to be accepted from within zencart (which is the case)
I'd like process to be done from within zencart maybe by invoking a API to some payment engine?
I prefer to avoid going to the paypal website

I know paypal has such an option but it charges a $20 monthly fee.

Any other alternatives?
