admin page not showing

hello everyone

i had a new install yesterday and all appears to have gone fine. the store comes up. i made a test customer which went fine. email was sent out and received.

logged into the admin account. the login screen came up, entered pswd and login info and the page processed to a blank screen that said done. from this point i can edit the url and type in "customers.php" and that screen comes up. i can then navigate around the admin console to all necessary pages except home. as soon as i click on the home link it takes me back to a blank screen.

the admin index page is blank for what reason?

does it have to do with the permissions?

i am really new to this stuff, so please be kind

fyi this was the 3rd install because of the same issue arising each time

As you know this is not normal - - a bit more info on your server config??

Linux or win?
installed to a top level domain?
other particulars of your install

should be windows...readyhosting.com

installed in a folder called "store"
