How to Attach an old database 2 a new store

Okay. I crashed out my first store! Have quite the database built up already though. I set up a new cart in a new directory installed it and EVERYTHING works!

The old one is still in it's own directory and LIVE.
I set the admin/includes/config.php ( define('DB_PREFIX', 'myshop_'); )
and it listed all my products but it also somehow became messed up looking
like the original.

Any Ideas?

On your new directory, check the two configure.php files:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Do all of the paths match the new directory?

Does all of the database information match?

Re: How to Attach an old database 2 a new store

okay, no they weren't . Now they are the same tho and it works but I still get a "crippled" theme.

Okay I have this:

Godaddy dir/
*new-good-store/
(Theme=Silverfish)
includes/config.php is from old store
admin/includes/confil.php from old store

*old-store/
(Theme = Classic)

Prob. I messed up the old store in the beging. ( kids, , , DONT CHANGE CORE FILES!!!) and didnt even know it. Now it wont use a different theme for some reason. I can install, preview and apply new themes they just dont show up in Live store view.

New store uses different themes like a charm! ( no core file changes by a beginner ) .
Thats before I change the admin/includes/config.php and the includes/config.php. Once they are change I can see all of my product listings but once again I end up with a Green Classic Store.

It happens as soon as I point the new store to the old stores database table prefix.

Thanks for the help. I can almost taste it! Success ! ! !
