text in define_main_page - not showing up

Ok, last question for a while I hope (crossing my fingers that authorize.net and paypal will work w/ my customer once I'm ready to test that w/ her info)

I need to have the main page display text - so I copied define_main_page.php to includes/languages/english/html_includes/custom/

I make the changes, I can see them in the Define Pages Editor and can see that it's in the correct folder.

But, the text doesn't show up on my page - I have a background image that gets cut off where I think the text would show.

All the rest of the pages display the background image correctly.

I look at the html code from the page and it's just using <h1> and <p> to format.

So, what did I screw up?

Check the Configuration ... Define Page Status ...

Is it turned on?

Switch to Classic template ... does it show now?

That was it!! Thanks - I thought I had gone through all the pages under configuration.
