Billing and shipping address in signup?

Is there a way to also work the shipping address in there? I'de like separate fields for billing and shipping addresses.

Also, i'de like two fields called "reference id" and "billing receiver".

No, Anybody?

Why would you need this in the signup, there is an addressbook feature,
and shipping address setup at time of order.

Don't ask me ;) The people i'm making this site for got som very strange ideas.

But how do i add more fields? I need more information about the costumers.

I already considered to build additional user fields within Zen-Cart. Althought, and unfortunitely, it would hardly work for orders since the classes files are not part of the overrides (which would require extensive additions for setting the new fields in places for 'each' SQL selection statement related to customers and orders table).

There's a few I don't use. You think I could replace them, rename rather? Like, Date of Birth and Address Line 2.

what happens if folks NEED to use address 2.
like to add their apartment number or such,

what extra information do you NEED to collect here?

I have address line 2 disabled at this moment and it works great. People put their apartment number in adress line 1 i guess.

What i do need is:

• billing receiver
• address
• zip-code
• town
• country
• reference id
• contact person (not necesseraly the same person as "billing receiver"
• phone number

Separate fields for shipping address would be nice, but it's not big thing if it doesnt work.

So yeah, the separate billing and shipping address really doesn't matter anymore, but is there a way to add "reference id"?

Glad I found this topic again. I have successfully coded and tested this new functionnality. It seems to work pretty well. Every additional customers fields you will add, it will, from now on, automatically add the contents into these additional fields and 'yes' required fields are ajustable as well. :smile:

TheOracle - Can you provide more information on how we would add additional customer fields?

I am also looking to be able to add a new field to customer login information... "Job Title" to be exact.

Zen Cart is great so far though besides this one little feature request! :)

I'd like to learn about this as well...any chance of a more detailed explanation?

I however just changed the 'fax number' name as I did not need the fax number
