cart doesn't work in internet explorer

I've been working the last week on setting up my store. I use firefox for my browser and everything has been working just fine. However, I discovered that it does not work in internet explorer - it looks like the css doesn't load nor do any images.

I've looked at some other zen-cart site in explorer and they work in both browsers - so I think it must be something specific to my cart. Anyone who could give some advice to me would be most appreciated as I have limited experience with websites.

Thanks Kobra - I tried your suggestion and it didn't correct the problem.

I noticed some other posts where people suggested problems with images and css not loading might be caused by .htaccess files. Their suggestion was to rename the htaccess file and then load the shop in the browser to see if the htaccess file was the problem. I tried this as well and I still have the same problem.

My cart still works fine in firefox but no css or images in explorer.

Well If you found an error and corrected it then you woul not still be listing your base ref as:

<base href="" />

You would have an address inside the quotes

In /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/html_header.php There should be a tag like the one below. Of course this is for an SSL configuration. Yours should be something similar.
