how do you change permissions???

might sound simple but im having real trouble doing this.

i have a linux server on fast host, i uploaded all my files using filezilla to my server, thing is i nver changed any permission on my server and the installer is saying the files are writable??

when i right click the config.php files in filezilla and click edit persimmion the are no set as writable!!

does this mean im uploading all the files as 777 or cant i chage the permissions using filezilla??

I had this same problem with Filezilla. It won't change the permissions, or they don't stick anyway. Use the file manager on your webhost's control panel to change the permissions.

dont know oif fast host has one, i tryed changing them again and it seemed to work now, computer are propper random.
