Clickable image in Product info page

Hi All,

Is there a way to make the image in the product info page a clickable link that will lead to the previous item? Right now, my site is set up so that users are taken to the latest product, and all items are sorted by date added. I've also deactivated the "click to enlarge" feature, so that the image is currently not clickable. I want users to be able to click on the image, upon which they are taken to the previous item. (same as clicking on the previous button) If users arrive at the first item, the link is deactivated.

The Previous/Next can have the images of the Previous/Next Product above ...

Also, you can set the Sort Order for the Product _info page to be different or the same as the Sort Order of the Product Listing ...
Configuration ... Product Info ...

Previous Next - Sort Order
Products Display Order by
0= Product ID
1= Product Name
2= Model
3= Price, Product Name
4= Price, Model
5= Product Name, Model
6= Product Sort Order

Thanks for the suggestions. But what I want to do is have the main product image clickable. When the user clicks on that large main image (not the thumbnails), he is taken to the previous product.

I am already lost on that idea ...

If I click an image I expect the image to do something related to the image ...

I am confused on how that relates to navigation ... and I think so would the user ... :blink:

Can you expand on that one a bit?

My site showcases illustration. I want easy navigation so that users can just click on the image to see the previous item.

My site is set up similar to http://topleftpixel.com. But I was thinking it'd be convenient if the user could click on the photo to view the previous item.

Do you have an URL to your site so I can try to comprehend this better?

I agree with Linda. People are used to the idea of previous/next buttons or arrows above the big picture. Making the pic itself the previous (& no next) is odd behavior. Frequent users could get used to that, but the absense of a way to go back to the page you came from will annoy them and drive them away.

Make it easy on your visitors and put nice clean arrows or something above/below/near your pics. With the invalid one grayed out at each end of the range, it will be obvious what to do.
