urgent - live store with sudden problem calc shipping

Everything has been running fine and nothing has been touched. Yesterday's orders were calculating okay.

TODAY ... no shipping methods can be selected at all... no matter what module.

Not Available At This Time

Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time.

But this DOESN'T happen if i add more than one product.

Please help? Customers are calling for assistance.

I can't figure out if this is a shipping problem or a zones problem.

I have removed and reinstalled all shipping modules and tried making new zones too.

The only shipping module that will work is the STORE PICK-UP, no matter what zone I set it to.

No other shipping modules work anymore.

Can't even figure out if it is a database issue.

What Modules Do you have installed? What version of Zen Cart? The URL?

Even after re-installing, and reuploading the modules, the problem still wouldn't go away.

I went into the order total module. Nothing had changed their either. But I made a few tweaks anyway.

After four hours, it finally started working again. I'm figuring it was an OT problem that mysteriously appeared.

I totally don't get it!

But here's what was installed:

ZONE RATES ... used for USA only

FREE OPTIONS ... used for Canada Only

STORE PICKUP ... used for local provincial zone only

FLAT ... used for Canada Only

BTW ... I checked the admin logs. No one even logged into the admin panel for several days. So nothing was "changed by accident".

I just found out there actually is still a problem ... but it is limited to one line of products. I'll dig into the database in phpmyadmin to see if there are any differences.

Here's the difference:

When something has been selected in ADMIN as free shipping, it shipping options don't show up anymore in the shopping cart. When I set this feature back to not free, then the shipping options come up.

Which module does this use so I can figure out where to adjust my settings?

The plan is that everything over $100 is free. Most items over $100 are selected as "always free shipping". But it's a bit inconsistent in how it's working (not sure why).

Admin> Modules> Order Totals> Shipping - Set to free shipping on orders over $100

And turn off the free shipping per item on the product page.

So for each product I now have to remove the "free shipping'" when it was previously working?

I'm a bit confused.

But now the "store pick-up" option isn't coming up anymore.

If you need both Free shipping and Store pickup at the same time ... while Kim's solution works great for the Free shipping over $100, it does not meet the additional need you have of having both at the same time ...

To manage both a Free Shipping Option freeoption and the Store Pickup storepickup

Remove the setting in the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ... and take off that Free Shipping ...

Install Free Shipping Options freeoptions and set to Total >= 100.00 plus the zone for Canada

Install Store Pickup storepickup with the zones

Install Flat with the zone setting for Canada

Install Zone Rates zones with the US zones

Now, in theory, based on all the information that you have supplied, this should cover all the bases for your various Shipping needs ...

Can the "always free shipping" not be used with these modules? I like having the graphic come up for "free shipping".

It was in use for 3 months at this site without any problems. Now I can't seem to get it to work anymore. When I change it, the problem goes away.

If the whole order is Free shipping, then you need the shipping module:
Free Shipping freeshipper installed ...

The whole order is defined as Free Shipping based on either products being marked as Always Free Shipping or as 0 weight where 0 weight is defined as free shipping in the Shipping/Packaging ...

When a whole order is Free Shipping then no shipping modules show except the Free Shipping freeshipper ...

When a whole order is NOT Free Shipping then ALL shipping modules show EXCEPT the Free Shipping freeshipper ...
