Caught in a Zencart Pickle can some one help

I bought and downloaded a Zencart template then tried to load it on to my zencart site I am using zencart 1.3.7 after I loaded it all up and slected the template it just showed a blank page. I contacted the people that sold me the template and they told me that it will not work with 1.3.7 I need to use 1.2.7 but I can not find a down load for 1.2.7 can some please help find a way to make this template work on 1.3.7 or help me find a download for 1.2.7

Well, that is a pickle. I would suggest sticking with 1.3.7. and simply use the generic classic template that comes with zencart by copying the contents of the classic folder into your own template folder. Not the template folder that came with the purchased template. change the title of the template in the template info file you'll see in the new folder.

Now once you've done that, copy the image files that came with the purchased template into the new template folder.

In admin change the template to the new template and see if that works. I'll check back to see what your answer is.

Read about the template override system first. There's a tutorial in the help section on it.

That way you'll understand why you need your own template folder.

There's too much programing to get 1.2.7 template to work for 1.3.7. Which is why I'm telling you to just transfer the images.

It's a work around, and will take some tweaking, but I'm confident that we can overcome any problems that crop up.

This really sucks because I paid 175.00 for the template and they will not give me my money back. Is there any place to download 1.2.7

these are the steps to install the template so can your way work after reading these steps and will it look the same?

2. When you have a Zen Cart software installed, unpack a template package you got from our website. Also unpack 'SOURCES_XXXXXXXX' directory.

Note: For security reasons the directory ("SOURCES_XXXXXXXX") containing all the source files of the template is in a compressed (zipped) file and password protected.

As soon as the zip file begins to uncompress, you will be prompted to type in a password. The password is the ID number of your order.

3. There will be a folder named \TMXXX (where XXX is a three digit number) inside an unpacked ZIP file. Place the files in their own directory (TMXXX) in the /includes/templates/ directory inside your Zen Cart installation. This will copy theme files of a zencart template to your installation.

4. Finally update tables of your Zen Cart installation database using a mysql dump file located at \SOURCES\DUMPS\ZENCART_SHORT.SQL inside an unzipped template package. Contact your webhosting company for assistance. NOTE: This will not affect the configuration of your ZenCart installation but just overwrite MySQL rows (tables) that define the style of your ZenCart store.

5. Once you have done this go to http://localhost/{zen-cart-directory} (if you are running on your own computer) or if on a live server - http://{www.mydomain.com}. Make sure the template is installed correctly.

you really need to write this one OFF to a learning experience,

1.2.7 is OLD is slower has issues,

1.3.7 is the current,
IF they wont at least upgrade you to a 1.3 version of this template ( Stilla POS but easier to fix ) then you need to just learn from it and start from scratch,

the templates are labled on TM for which version they ALMOST work for,

there are a ton of posts here about TM

however if you are deadset on an outdate cart then you can use the DL link and choose 1.2.7 from source forge,

be sure that if you install 1.2.7 that you look up and add ALL the patches

First off what is TM? and they told me there is no upgrade for the template. And when I looked on source forge for 1.2.7 i could not find it. do you have a link to it?

and you need to look on SF for the OLDER versions,
its there

once again make sure to download ALL of the patches and security updates
otherwise you are opening yourself up to alot of heartaches

Listen,

If you think that by downloading 1.2.7 will magically make that template work you've got another thought coming.

You will have far less of a headache if you listen to us and stick with 1.3.7. I've bought template monster templates before and I can tell you they are a terrible headache to make work.

You can get your money back by going through your credit card company. They will send you a form to complete because the item doesn't work as specified.

If you try to make it work with 1.2.7 you will eventually get it to work, but you'll have a terrible time of it.

Good luck, with what ever choice you choose. You'll find help either way, but that help will be peppered with the advice you've already received.
