Categories listing on left side of Home Page

I would like the left side of my home page to be a list of the categories that the customers can shop through. I'll have the products in each of the categories. How can I do this?

This should appear by default on a fresh install. Have you switched off the sidebox?

Look in ADMIN>TOOLS>LAYOUT BOXES and edit the settings for categories sidebox, make sure it is switched ON for Column left, and give it a sort order.

What exactly do you mean by "change" ?

When you create (or disable or remove) categories, the list of categories will show up in the categories sidebox. The ORDER in which they appear will depend on whether you apply a sort order or not.

I showed you a link with a drop down menu, you showed me a link with a drop down menu. I think we're talking about the same thing, its just that you want it on the sidebox, correct?
