Product date available is today, shows as expected product

Noticed on a couple of my items that I marked with an available date of today (which agreed with Zen's today date) that they get entered as an expected product and not an available one.

Quick fix was to change it to yesterday but can't believe I'll have to do that with all new products.

Whass' up with that?

I cannot reproduce this error in Zen Cart v1.3.7 ...

Are you using a Clean install or an Upgrade?

How did you install or upgrade your site?

If you go to your site with a fresh browser window in IE, suggested test by clicking your nice big blue E icon to open a clean browser session as it could be a cache/configuration issue so this appears to be happening, does it still happen?

Have you an URL where we can see this?

Thanks as always Linda. Of course on my end I can just make sure I always back date my new items since I'm working in a Filemaker database. Not elegant but easy.

Try editting the file:
/includes/functions/functions_lookup.php

And change the line, approximately 934, in the function zen_get_upcoming_date_range from:

    $new_range = ' and p.products_date_available >=' . $zc_new_date;

to read:

    $new_range = ' and date_format(p.products_date_available, \'%Y%m%d\') >' . $zc_new_date;

See if this doesn't allow the date to be anything with whatever time ... which was the issue as 2007-03-15 00:00:01 is greater than 20070315 ... :lamo:

Ha! Just tried it but, of course, I can't try it for real unless I do it at 00:00:01. Although I don't remember the original problem happening around that time I may have just caught it the next day during review.

I'll make the change anyway and keep a note for myself in case something comes up due to the change though from the look of it it wont effect anything badly.

Still having some issues with dates that I'm forcing right now. Can't seem to edit the format correctly. I wanted to have some specials going until I don't want them to (without thinking about it every year) so wanted to set 1/1/3000 but Zen sees them as 1/1/2030. Of course this works but can't figure out where (Zen, Zen file, Filemaker database) to change formats to get it working right. Seems like it is a specials issue only since product available date works fine with, for example, 3/16/2007.

At least my problems are becoming real as apposed to stricltly newbie stuff. That's progress......right?

Perhaps 23 years is good enough to run the special before you have to update it? :smartass:

Ha Ha! I'm anal retentive that's for sure but I even finally convinced myself that was true! It was more about finding out what I was doing wrong about the date formats. Came up with other stuff too that had purchase dates in the 90's so it was part of a bigger problem.

PLUS....I'm generous, my specials will run 1000 years! Better hurry!

Right now I'm taking the stance that if it functions I'm cool and I'll fine tune when I get some knowledge under my belt.

Working for anyone else but me tonight??!! Ask button is great! Fine tuning as we speak, it solved more than one issue for me. Next work day I'm going to pour through the add ons again, already using a bunch.
