Offline Credit Card

Hello All, I know i am new to this forum, but I have been around the e commerce world for a Long Time, Built my First cart with tep... anyone remember that around here:yes::no:

However I have not been active in awhile but I have followed the development of osC and all the Spinoffs like Zen cart, and I have to say I am impressed with the Direction Zen has gone and it going.

One thing continues to bother me about all these commerce packages, while I always modify any carts I set up to comply with the laws, it shocks me that the default installations still do not. this ofcourse is in regards to the toring of CVV Code. I know alot of you probably are not from the US but I cant image other countries differing on these points but even if it is legal, it still violates all of the networks internal rules.

US Law Prohibits the storage of CVV code for any reason, in any fashion (even encrypted).

This 3 digit number should never be stored by anyone for any reason, I urge the developers of all Payment modules to Adjust their code Accordingly.

Yes this means if you use offline processing you CANT verify the CVV info for fraud protection, that sucks for you, but that is life.

CVV numbers are never to be stored.

I thought it was a condition of Visa & Mastercards TOS (but then I'm not an american so I could be wrong) in the US.

Zen-cart is used all over the world (not just the US) & can be customised as you like. Remove the CVV number if you like. You can do that, its very flexible.

You must realise that there is life outside the US (I know, its hard to believe isn't it)

Why here in Australia they even allow us to charge an additional service fee to a customer to use a credit card to offset the fees that the credit card companies charge us. :yuck:

Please provide a link to said law, thank you.
