Integrating ZC into Wordpress?

Hi,

I've been searching the forums and have found other people who are trying to integrate their Wordpress and Zen Cart sites. Many of the solutions have been to use the Wordpress module to integrate Wordpress into Zen Cart.

But, I would really like to find out how to integrate Zen Cart into Wordpress. Each product will be a post in Wordpress with an Add to Cart button from Zen Cart that will take the customer to the Zen Cart shopping cart page. But, we would like to use the Zen Cart shopping cart sidebox on the various Wordpress pages.

We tried using the code in the shopping_cart.php file in the Wordpress Sidebar widget, but it requires other files in order to work. And I'm just not sure which files and how to "include" or "require" them.

Has anyone figured this out? Or has an in-depth knowledge of the sidebox system?

Basically, Zen Cart is not modular and the pieces can not be used functionally outside of the cart structure.

Not that I know of for what you described in your OP.
Now to say that as open source - one is free to alter the code to suit their purpose - but if you begin to investigate this you will see that it is not 'modular' in any sense and the volume of re-write that would be required to split these functions out into standalone pieces would be so involved as to make it eaiser to find another script that is modular upfront.

I only suggest this as it seems that you are not interested in using ZenCart as intended and the amount of work-coding to be capable of attaining what you seek.

editor tool via zencart admin.. by disabling certain zencart
centre blocks, your site would like like wordpress, with necessary
zencart sidebox product blocks activated...

i have succesfully added this, now all i need to do is crack on with the css editing. And as this post comes top of google i will share any info you need on this topic as i came into quite a few brick walls.

gmrm, how is that going for you? Did you need to do any further tweaking, what with the newer versions of Wordpress?
