Free items

Hi all,

I'm very new to web designing and even newer to shopping carts. Right now, I'm using Mal's e-commerce shopping cart on my site (which is not open for buisness yet) because it was free and very easy to set up. However, for what my buisness partner and I are wanting to do, a more advanced shopping cart will be necessary. There is one key feature I am looking for in a shopping cart. Our site will be selling trees, shrubs, bulbs, and whatever may come up in the future. What I want to offer my customers is free plants when their orders reach a certain amount. Basically, my vision for this is like this: a customer orders $50 in products and proceeds to the checkout; during the checkout, they are notified that they qualify for two free plants (which they get to choose from a predetermined list.)

Is anything like this possible with Zen-Cart?

One method would be to include a coupon that could be applied against your selected list

Making this automatic while possible would require a bit of custom coding
