Organizing Images (Brands)

Do you place ALL the small images in the image folder, or can you set up different folders for each class of product?

For example:

Instead of dumping ALL the small images in the 'images' folder, can you make folders for different brands? Like Brand 1, Brand 2, Brand 3? And put the small images in the appropriate folder? This would seem more organized than just placing them ALL in the images folder (unless that's the way to do it).

If I do make 'brand folders' they need to be in all 3 folders right? Small, medium, and large sections. Correct?

Would I need to change the path to the picture when I add a new product? Or would the folder be in the drop down list?

Any advice?

You can use the main directory:
/images

Or, you can use your own sub-directories:
/images/something

You would see in the dropdown when adding/editing Products:
Main Directory (this is the /images)
something (this is /images/something)
etc.
etc.
etc.

Then follow the same pattern for the medium, large, additional and additional large images ...

/images
/images/medium
/images/large

/images/something
/images/medium/something
/images/large/something
