Removing all products?

Hi, I'm a Zencart newbie, but I've made some good progress setting up my first shopping cart so far. I have one question...

I worked off of a supplied template and modified it to look like our client's regular site, but I was left with all of the products and categories from the original template. My question is, is there a way to wipe out all products without having to delete them one at a time? If I delete all of the categories, do the products disappear along with them?

There are probably around 100 products still in the template, and deleting them one at a time is a real pain...

Please try to dumb down your answer if you can, as I'm more of a designer than a programmer. I have decent beginner's knowledge of the Admin section though...

Thanks, but what about the warning when you delete a category?

*"Warning: Linked Products whose Master Categories ID are deleted will not price properly. You should first assure that when deleting a Category that contains Linked Products that you reset the Product(s) Master Categories ID to another Category before removing a Category"

*That's what confused me, I didn't want a bunch of orphan products around.

When all Categories are deleted you should end up without Products ...

The caution is for when you are deleting Categories that have Linked Products and have not reset those Products to utilize a new Category as its master_categories_id ...

As you are not keeping any Products, this warning is not of any major significance ...

I have got a slightly different but similar problem here.

I have tried to delete everything and I now get the following message.

"WARNING: You have Products in the Top Level Category. This will cause pricing to not work properly in the Catalog. Products found: 9"

But I also get...

"ID Categories / Products Model Price/Special/Sale Quantity Status Sort Action

Categories: 0

Products: 0"

Which shows me no products. I am in the Top Category, It is now the only Category.

On the same basis as above is this a "ignorable" problem and can I get rid of the message somehow? I am happy to do manual changes to the database if needed.

If you think you emptied all products and categories ... peek in phpMyAdmin ...

Select the checkboxes on the following:
products
products_description
categories
categories_description
products_to_categories

Technically these should all have 0 records ... you can ensure this by selecting from the dropdown the Empty option ...

It is not a bad idea to scroll through your table listings and just make sure it looks logically clean ...

Example, If you have not products or categories then you have no:
featured
meta_tags_categories_description
meta_tags_products_description
products_attributes
products_attributes_download
product_discount_quantity
products_notifications
specials
reviews
reviews_description
salemaker_sales

etc. etc. etc.

Hello I have done an import and have some linked products in the top catagory. Is there a quick way of removing them as there is 150+ and its taking a while.. Would the phpadmin advice earlier work?
