Express and economy options with 'per item'

I'm using the 'per item' shipping module but I would like to make it a choice of express or economy. Choosing express will simply add a fixed amount to the total. How can I do this.

Clone the perweightunit.php files and make perweightunitexpress.php and change the perweightunit to perweightunitexpress and the PERWEIGHTUNIT to PERWEIGHTUNITEXPRESS ...

Install it and add the Handling charge for the extra amount and change the defines on the language files and voila!! A new shipping module is born!! :smartalec:

I have saved the new file and a copy in my new Custom Shipping folder. How do I install it? It does not appear in my shipping module page after refreshing.

There isn't a custom directory for the:
/includes/modules/shipping

There is a custom directory for the language files, but there has to be an original in the default directory:
/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping

As this is your own custom shipping, you can just put both in the two default directories:
/includes/modules/shipping
/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping

I am sorry to be so dim.

I put my new file: perweightunitexpress.php into
/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping

Then I go to /includes/modules/shipping where I will find another different perweightunit.php which I clone and change every reference to perweightunit to perweightunitexpress?

Are there more defines somewhere else?

In FTP:

You should see:
/includes/modules/shipping/flat.php
/includes/modules/shipping/item.php
etc.etc.etc.
/includes/modules/shipping/perweightunit.php
/includes/modules/shipping/perweightunitexpress.php
