hit a bump in the road, script warning

Hello,

I've been adding product and attributes for it seems like years now to my site and now today I get this warning message whenever updating or adding a price to an attribute:

"A Script on this page is causing mozilla to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you wan to abort the script"

Attributes and prices are all adding correctly, doesn't seem to matter if I hit abort or cancel to the warning message.

I'm using 1.3.7 and to have the improved attribute contribution, there have been no new mods added since I started adding attributes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Jackie

Re: hit a bump in the road, script warning

This warning message only appears when in the attribute controller, I did re-load the improved attribute controller but that didn't help

the site is: http://64.130.37.32

Re: hit a bump in the road, script warning

okay, I re-loaded the default attributes controller and all works fine, no warning message, but I really really prefer to have the improved controller working. The items I'm adding all have so many product models that need to be priced by attribute. siiiiigh

Re: hit a bump in the road, script warning

hitting the cancel button everytime I update a price is really getting annoying, but not half annoying as the fact that this is screwing with my ITunes music, Poor Joe Cocker gets all warbely when the update is going on. Any help for my ears would be greatly appreciated

You have me rather baffled too ...

This is not normal behavior on a site ...

Perhaps you could PM me with your Zen Cart Admin URL and login and I can peek at what might be going on here and see if there is anything obvious ...

Re: hit a bump in the road, script warning

Thanks for looking Ajah, Ijust made a donation to the dev team, have a cup of coffee on me (or a stiff drink). I emailed support at Pair.com to see if they will upgrade my php and hopefully that will work. until then I listen to warbly music and slowly get my products on the site.

just one comment. This slowness and warning message only happen with the improved attributes contoller installed. It doesn't happen with the default one

Is there a solution to this problem yet? We are having the same problem with our store.

Thanks

Are you using the Improved Attributes Controller?
If you go back to the original, what happens?
What else have you tried doing about it?
How many products do you have in your store?
How many have attributes?
How many attributes are typically tied to your products?
What is your site URL?
What version of Zen Cart are you using?
What other addons/contributions are installed?

Re: hit a bump in the road, script warning

I have:

422 products
191 option names
2091 option values

I get the warning message anytime I try and go to the attribute controller or add new attributes to a product. I do not get the warning when adding option names or values

Re: hit a bump in the road, script warning

This is how we encounter our problem. We have basically one attribute option name which is Color/Size. There are 1995 option values for this option name. I created another option name titled TEST with option values of test1 and test 2.

If you go to the attribute controller page Color/Size is selected in the option name by default and this creates a script error(firefox). I hit stop script and continue on my merry way. If I select TEST everything is fine but once I reselect Color/Size I get the error again.

My guess is there is some limit to which each option name can have for option values before you encounter this error.

Hope this makes sense. Any ideas?

___edit

Also just thinking that it might not be the amount of values per name but just the amount of code it adds to the page? for instance my source code is ~ 2000 lines longer because of the amount of option values.
