1 item several variants with unique price?

Hi Guys 'n' Dolls,
As a newbie I still am not even sure how to word this request so apologies it this isa duplicated request in this forum...

I have to plan an online pharmacy store where many items have multiple variants each with its individual price. e.g. shampoo 250ml @£1.00 and 500ml @ £1.50 and 750ml @ £2.00

as the packaging image is the same I would REALLY love this to be handled like the red t'shirt / yellow t'shirt method of variants but am at a loss as to how each could have different price attached to each variant.

firstly: is this possible by default? by existing mod? by custom programming a mod?(any offers?)

If you had the Option Name as Size (or what have you) and use dropdown or radiobuttons ...

Then add the Option Values:
Pick a size (or what have you)
Sort Order 0

250ml
Sort Order 250

500ml
Sort Order 500

750ml
Sort Order 750

Notice how I used the ml as the sort order? This is for future use if there were a new size added you could easily add it in the right order without a lot of thought and just update the attributes ...

Now add as Attributes to the Product:
Option Name: Size
Option Value: Pick a size (or what have you)
Sort Order 0
Default YES
Display Only YES

Option Name: Size
Option Value: 250ml
Sort Order 250 (or later update the sort order on the product to the default)
Price XX.XX

Option Name: Size
Option Value: 500ml
Sort Order 500 (or later update the sort order on the product to the default)
Price XX.XX

Option Name: Size
Option Value: 750ml
Sort Order 750 (or later update the sort order on the product to the default)
Price XX.XX

There are pros and cons to utilizing Price by Attribute ... if using Price by Attribute the prices can read the actual price ... sometimes, however, different Sale Maker prices might not work for you ... but Specials should ...

Experiment a bit with how you want your pricing ...

I am not sure that I am following you on exactly what it is you are trying to accomplish ...

Could you spell it out and type it really, really slow? I do not read very fast ... :smile:

If you are looking for a feature that lists all your products in table form that you can edit: then no, there is no such feature in ZenCart. It's a good idea however!

Maybe somebody will come up with a contribution that does this so folks can quickly update prices and stock quantity without having to bring up each separate item and edit, preview and save. That gets quite tedious for stores with more than just a few items to update. Unfortunately, writing code to update prices that way would be a major task due to the widespread use of the price by attribute feature.

For the present, you will have to update each item one-by-one.
