SSL install gives a weird page for login and checkout

Ajeh:

Just a note ...

I have something in my cart ... I look around the store ... I am ready to checkout ...

I search and search and search but no obvious way to Checkout or Login or anything ... so I pack up my credit cards and go home ...

Thank you for the feedback - that is a good point obviously the shopping cart on the side is not visible enough I will add another menu item up the top for checkout.

So did you have any suggestion regarding the ssl problem - do you see the raw java script or do you see just a blank page. Any thoughts on what is causing it.

(A blank page shows on the IE 7 & raw javascript of the country and state pulldown show in firefox)

Thanks

Re: SSL install gives a weird page for login and checkout

While FF shows the javascript code, IE loads it but doesn't display it. However, if you View Source, you'll see that both IE and FF stop loading the javascript at approx entry 2028.
It's loading about 140 kb of page source and then dying.

This suggests that when the webserver is running in SSL mode (which runs from a different memory config than non-SSL), it's possible that it may have a lower memory threshold for processing the page.

Thank you for your report information. I have put a ticket into my host to see if they can work out the problem. Their first response is that the ssl mode has a high memory threshold.

Hopefully they have the solution. But if it is not I will have to get more advice - hopefully everyone won't forget about me!

I will let everyone know the outcome either way.

Thanks

Re: SSL install gives a weird page for login and checkout

Ok so my hosting company says that it is now my database. They have done a test with my database and a fresh database on my site using my config. It worked on the fresh database. Their solution is to find the entry or module that is effecting the database. So where do i go now?? How do I find the entry or module that is affecting the secure area. Any clues?

I have only a few modules installed:

captcha
ez-pages on sitemap
image handler 2.0
usps autofiller
sales report

In regards to my database I have over a year of customer and order data that I really want to keep and I have almost finished revising my products.

The site is a copy from my active site which is on another server and running from another domain. Once I have this new one fixed I am changing the dns of the active one to this and advertising the site. So i do have to update the customer and order data just before changing to get the new data.

So I really would prefer not to have a new database - so any suggestions of where the problem could be? For anyone I will PM the database for analysis if that helps??

I really hope the community can help with this - I really need help!

Thanks
