no link for downloading after payment (misconfigured admin on site)

Express Checkout seems to function well, except no limk appears for downloading after completion of transaction.

I installed the latest patch (March 21), removed and reinstalled the module. No change.

Any idea?

What showed on the checkout_success below the section for the Notify things?

What are your settings in the Configuration ... Attribute Settings?

When you added the product to the cart, did you see the name of the attribute with the download in the cart too?

If you peek at the Attribute Controller ... and locate this product ... do you see the green dot next to the download?

Sorry for not having been specific enough. The checkout-success displays a note saying that 'downloads are authorised only after payment has been validated'.

Everything else is ok, configuration settings, attribute settings. The name of the attribute with the download appears in the cart.

Which funding method are these customers using? -- credit cards, echeck, or existing paypal funds?

Credit Card or PayPal funds should get the order released immediately.
echeck ... they have to wait for the payment to clear.

1. Make sure you've patched your PayPal code to the latest version for 1.3.7:

2. Check your PayPal Express Checkout module and ensure that you've set the "Set Order Status" setting to "Processing [2]":> Set Order Status

Set the status of orders paid with this payment module to this value.
Recommended: Processing[2]

If you've changed your order status names/levels elsewhere in the admin, you'll have to alter accordingly.

3. Admin->Configuration->Attribute Settings.
   What are your settings for these:

• Downloads Controller Order Status Value >= lower value
• Downloads Controller Order Status Value <= upper value

The number of the value you set in step 2 above needs to be between the "lower" and "upper" values set here.

If you've changed any of these from the default configuration you'll have to alter accordingly.

The problem occurs whether customers use Paypal funds or credit cards.

As to your other suggestions:

1. I used the latest patch (March 21st).
2. The ''set order status'' can't be put in anything else than ''default''. No choice given there.
3. Lower value set to 2; upper value to 4.

One more thing: I checked in PHPmyAdmin and all failed transactions have the order status set to 1. But as I said in my previous post, in the PayPal Express Checkout module, the set order status is fixed to 'default' (as are unpaid and refund order status).

Just want to close this thread. I put the 'lower value' to 1, leaving the upper value as it is by default (4). So for now it's ok, the link shows up and download is possible. But, still, it does not solve the fact that I can't change the value of the 'set order status'.

Look in Localization ... Orders Status ...

How many do you have?

If you click on them, you will see their id number in the URL ... these should be 1 to 4 ...

Ajeh's right. If you don't have any options other than "default" in the list, then you have a configuration problem on your site. Ajeh's recommendation is the first place to go looking.
