White Edges on Sideboxes

I've searched all over for 6hrs. for the resolution to this but can't seem to find anyone with the same issue. Don't know how this happened but somehow my sideboxes have these annoying white ridges on them. I've tried changing the background color as well as other modifications in the stylesheet and Admin but still can't get rid of them. Can someone help please????

When I said "redo it with a black background" a while back, what I meant was to have a black background in Photoshop (or whatever) when you did the cutting. The half-purple and half-background pixels need to be half-black, not half-white.
Sorri I wasn't more explicit the first time.

Actually, it would benefit from a very close-up recoloring of the cut edge to have a similar shading to the rest of the edge.

The strange thing is, I didn't make any changes to my sideboxes. These came straight from the Purple Shades template. No altering/cutting to them at all. Don't know how those white edges got there.

Huh... I hadn't looked closely at the purpleshades template. The white edges are an artifact of the template author's cutting - they just don't show against a light background.. Do you have any sort of graphics program you could edit the image in? If not, post a copy of the image here and I'll clean it up for you.

Wow, didn't even know the background made a difference like this. Guess I'm still learning.
