MultiSite Module Support Thread

There's nothing wrong with those comments; the Multi-site Module change is commenting-out that entire block since the template to use for the current site is identified in its "config_sites" file.

So how to make it work or somebody can test it in zencart v1.55, v1.55a or v1.55b. and find out what is the wrong?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

I found some time yesterday evening, and made the Zen Cart 1.5.5b and multisite install. Everything works fine. You can see the result here Like I said before, you need to do some merging of files, but most files for the module are unchanged

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Is there anything I should be specifically wary of before I try this? Anything to take extra care with?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

FWIW, I've installed this on a client's site running ZC1.5.5a (not much different than 1.5.5b) without issue. Design75's changes are well-marked, making the merging quite easy!

It is depending on where in your hosting account the domains are living. If store1.mydomain.com, and mydomain.com are both pointing to the same directory, all you have to do is edit the paths in your configure.php files. If both domains are pointing to different file locations, you need to move the whole file set to the new location, and the edit the paths.

That link come with a download... not a site. Is that what it should be?

Not sure what went wrong, but it seems there was a small error on my server. The link should now.

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

I am running Multisite for a while now with great success. I now run into a strange issue though. After adding a new site to my setup, and adding a whole number of new categories, the "Add This site to all Categories" function is no longer doing what is expected. It will add the site name to all the categories but when pressing the save button, it only updates a certain number of categories with the new name. I have around 1400 categories spread across the various sites. It seems to always stop after a certain number of updates, but does not present any error messages. I have renamed some categories to move them to the bottom and on pressing the save button the system only updates the same amount of categories. Is there any limit in number of updates that I should set higher to get the admin to update ALL the categories? It seems to always stop after about 999 categories.

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Hello,
I have been working on a new version of multisite.
I will post the files here, I hope to get some feedback for improvements.
This version tries to roll in all the changes and updates I was able to fine on this site.

Some key aspects of this new version are:

  1. This version does NOT use the old site switch and _config files.
  2. Each site can be independently configures from the ADMIN section.
  3. There is a new table added to support the new functionality.
  4. Some table have new fields added and new constraints added.
  5. Multiple new files added, and some existing files move to new locations.

The attaches files are a work in progress.
These file are NOT intended to be used on an active/production site!!
These are for testing at this time.

The current module is compatible, although it may need some careful merging of files. It can be found here in the downloads section.
