MultiSite Module Support Thread

Alright guys, next problem!

I have two carts which you can view here

http://site1.pearcestephens.co.nz
http://site2.pearcestephens.co.nz

Just out of the box setup, multi setup is linking fine! However! The categories on the upper menu are working correctly but the left sidebox category menu just seems to ignore the multisite settings that I specify and displays all categories.

What gives?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

I have changed the layout for http://site2.pearcestephens.co.nz and its not really loading properly at all. Looking at the source it seems to stop upon loading the category sidebox..Why would this be?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Hey Guys,

Well its been a couple days since I decided I needed a break from this plugin, so today I have gone back to it and reinstalled it and got it to SUCCESSFULLY work as it should, templates working perfectly, everything as it should. AWESOME!

The only question I have now is I want to create other links to my 'Partner' websites but I dont want to use the sidebox yet I still want my other links to include the session ID. What is the easiest way to add this session ID to other links?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Another little thing I have noticed is I cannot seem to get the EZPAGES sidebox to appear, it is set up to appear as a sidebox and I have no errors in the log. Any Ideas?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Okay Question Number 3.

My Bestsellers sidebox is giving me this error

[16-Dec-2012 13:37:51] PHP Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in testing.franktonmodels.co.nz/includes/modules/sideboxes/radiocontrol/best_sellers.php on line 47

and line 47 is

cat_filter($best_sellers_query) .= $limit;

Just sorting out the little bugs :) Thanks for any help guys!

For some reasen this file can not be in the override folder, if you place it in includes/modules/sideboxes it works.
I am trying to find out why

Maybe in a far distant future, I'll be glad when i have the manual rewritten properly.

the last update on github has all the code marked that needs to be merged, easing the installation process. If you need anny help I will do my best to help you.

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

Thank you. My site is http://letsseethemenu.com I'd like to use the multi site module to operate the restaurants on my site as stand alone shops from a single admin panel. Is this something the multisite module would work for? I have very limited programing skill but I'd like to learn more so if there is anything I can do to help you in writing the manual please let me know. I learn best when I have a real world problem to solve. Thank you again.

That is exactly how the multisite mod works, one admin and multiple shops. The first time i started building a multisite shop I had zero php knowledge. The thing you need to do is follow the instructions :) (in this case a bit difficult).

  • Start by making a local backup and a file-set to use for working with.
  • then copy all the new files to your working file-set.
  • After that start merging the files from the edit core file folder.
  • for configuring you can use the current read me
If you have any questions, ASK !!

The EZ pages are not working, beats me why. Tonight I am going to set-up an ancient 1.38 Zen Cart multi testshop to test the original module, to see if it has ever worked.

I have had no time to think about the session thing. but you could use the code from modules/sideboxes/site_links.php

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread

For now the ez pages mod has been moved from the beta mod in to an experimental mod, to be dealt with at a later time.
