Sometimes they can download zips, sometimes they can't.

Hello! Zen Cart is awesome!

Recently I am offering some rather large free zipped up downloads on my music site, and for the most part everything seems to be working. But occasionally, when a client goes to download the file, the download count snaps to zero and the download doesn't take. I have not been able to personally recreate this problem, and I am wondering if it could be a browser related problem on their end, or what the deal is. I have confirmed at least one of the customers was on WinXP with Firefox.

Any idears?

What are your settings in Admin->Configuration->Attribute Settings ?

With "redirect" and "streaming" disabled, it appears that you're sending folks directly to the actual file to do their download, meaning they can also copy the file link and email it to their friends? This should only be necessary on Windows hosts.

If you don't like using the redirect, then streaming is usually best.
Streaming also helps get around server-memory-limit problems, by only sending 2048 bytes at a time, rather than loading up several MB to RAM before sending, which might be the problem you're encountering.

I didn't realize that it wasn't secure. Ive changed the setting to Streaming, as recommended and I'll let you know if I still have issues.
