gfunk,
Were there really only those 4 log files? I would have expected about 10.
Anyway, can you please verify that you have installed the latest PayPal patch ? Much like Furitech thought the latest was installed, it was in fact not truly the latest.
The latest can be found here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56216&goto=newpost

I'm having also somewhat similar problems. US is being selected as country every time, but the logs says that [country] = FI (Finland) is sent to PayPal.
I'm using only PayPal IPN, and updated to the latest patch today.
New Zenner
Or is it so that country variable is actually sent in lc field? lc seems to be US in our orders.
New Zenner
Never mind. I "hard coded" GB in country field and it seems to work, but FI doesn't. I think I need to ask this from PayPal.
Sensei
Can you post logs ?

Sure, but as mentioned before if I change the country field to the code it seems to work at least with GB (didn't try others), but it doesn't work with FI.

I've logged a support ticket with PayPal to find out why it's not working according to their documented specifications.

Did they reply?
Sensei
They confirmed it as a bug.
There's no estimated date of fix at this point.

Ok thanks. Can you say by your experience are we talking about days, weeks or months?

No idea. I'm pretty sure it "used to" work fine a couple months ago. I have no idea why it's busted. And, frankly, they've busted a number of other things this month too. So, can't really say when they'll get their act together. Their development folks seem to be more interested in their new logos than ensuring functionality survives through upgrades.
Your best bet to aid in accelerating fixes is to log your own ticket on the topic. More voices equals more attention. http://www.paypal.com/mts
This is how I reported it:> According to the Website Payments Standard documentation on pages 122 and 126, it seems that sending "country" with a value of "FI" should be valid.
However, when the customer is directed to the PayPal site to create their PayPal account, the address is defaulting to US instead of FI.This was their response:> I was able to confirm that the problem exists in both our live and sandbox environments. I've submitted a bug report for our developer team to have them determine the root cause and resolve the issue. Until they have resolved the issue, your buyer will need to manually change the country from "United States" to "Finland" in the drop-down menu.

I have ZenCart v. 1.3.7
Database Patch Level: 1.3.7
v1.3.7 [2007-06-22 17:54:42] (Fresh Installation)
I'm also having a lot of problems with PayPal Express, although the PayPal IPN works fine. With PayPal Express, I keep getting the error 'We were not able to process your order. Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. (Shipping Address Country Empty)"
Previous posts in this thread discuss patches but recent posts indicate that this is a PayPal bug (someone had problem with Finland)
After I installed my ZenCart (on June 22nd) I did add some modes but never had to use a ny patches.
If you think that my PayPal Express (Shipping Address Country Empty) can be addressed by patches - please direct me to the appriopriate patches and instructions
Thanks
Sensei
If you're using v1.3.7, then you need the latest PayPal patch installed.
If you're using v1.3.7.1, then the patches are already included (well, as of June 17 anyway).
So, yes -- install the latest patch if you want to get rid of that country error.

Everybody's business is different so we do need to "mess" with it a little but you guys and your responsiveness on this forum make it almost painless. More I work with the cart, more I learn to appreciate the complexity of it and the incredible logic of the entire project. Thank you for being here for all of us.

I had the shipping country error also, applied the latest patch, and voila...works wonderfully again.
