Payments

I'm sort of new a this...but can anyone clify how the payments work? How can i accept credit cards with zen cart? do i need other software?

The system for this is not predicated by Zen Cart but by the banking industry. There are basically 2 parts to this.

1. You need a merchant account that is setup at your bank that accepts payments through credit cards.

2. A "Gateway" processor that does the online processing/validation of the cards and deposits your sales to your bank account.

Zen Cart has support for more than one gateway provider wither built in or by adding a module available in the downloads area.

Another alternative if you want is to use PayPal to accept credit cards at their site, but many do not like the fact that PP hawks creating a PP account up front, and below that you can just use a CC without a PP account.

That is the short story on this.
