Multiple flat rates for shipping

Hi

I would like to set up the cart to allow the user to select the type of shipping they want at checkout time and add the appropriate rate per item.
I've looked through all the shipping options and cannot see how this is done. Can anyone assist?

Options would be

1. UK Next day delivery - per item
2. Standard UK first class delivery - per item
3. Europe Airmail Small Packets - per item
4. Worldwide Airmail Small Packets -per item
5. Standard UK Postal Rates (by weight) for small items such as thread, glue etc.

Possibly an acceptable option would be to have a flat rate per item, plus an addtional customer selected charge for anything 'special' in the way of delivery.

For the meantime I've just created a number of flat rate shipping types to be selected from - but will be keeping an eye open for a better way.

Do they have a radio button that customer can select?

That's all I need. Just 2 options. Standard post =$4, Courier = $7

I have discovered that by searching for "clone flat", you will find the method of cloning all necessary files. Too much for me, for this little item.
Could you tell me how you did your multiple flat rates?

I am really new to the zen cart, and am really clueless on how to edit things, but I think I read some where, you can clone the flat rate module, and have different prices in each one. I am also wanting different prices for multiple items etc, but I dont have a clue on how to clone a file and set it up so it works.

Ah sorry - I did it by cloning the flat rate files - it really is incredibly easy - and the even better bit is that, because you are working on new files, you can't screw up anything that is there already!
