Please give me feedback on my cart...

Hi, my cart is pretty much complete thanks to the help of many people on this forum. I'd welcome any feedback. The cart can be found at:

Feel free to comment on pricing (I'm still tinkering with that) or any other non-technology aspect of the site.

There are still three technical things I'm still struggling with, and I'd welcome any insights.

1. On the product info pages, my option labels aren't perfectly left-aligned. I'm not sure how to get them all consistent.
2. For some reason in FireFox with this page I get the text "LifeOnRecord Events-->" appearing at the top. That doesn't happen in IE.
3. My biggest hurdle is that I can't get large images to show up on the product info pages. When I use IH2 (which is currently turned on) I get a pop-up box with no image. I've looked through the support thread, and made sure my pop-up Javascript was in the right directory, and I set my image dimensions in Admin\Configuration\Images to be odd numbers, but that hasn't fixed the issue.

Check your file structure, when I uploaded a couple of mods after a reinstall I didnt create a couple of CUSTOM directories where I should have, it automatically uploaded it in my FTP program as YOURTEMPLATE, once I renamed the directories everything worked fine.

Thanks, I've checked and re-checked the file structure and it looks good. The odd thing is that on some pages like this one I get the image pop-up on the bottom but not the top. On others I don't get the pop-up at all, and none of the pop-ups actually contain the larger image.

WEll to be perfectly honest I would turn off the larger images on all of those. The larger image feature is more for a product that you want the customer to see more detail on such as This. All you are trying to enlarge is your logo, which you already have at the top of your page. From strictly a customer point of view if I waited for a larger image to pop up and all I got was another version of the logo I would be more annoyed than anything.

my first impression was - wow, nice looking; then rolling over a link I didn't care for the rollover text color at all...

subtle semantics but my impression: from a casual visitor perspective you might be standing a little too close to your product/service - meaning you know what its about but I don't quite get it -- I click on the links "life on record events" for example and the very first thing is that you ask me to make a purchasing decision - my reaction is 'whoa'. I think a little more introduction might be nice - but if you think the vast majority of users are getting to your site already knowing what they want to do then your philosophy might be okay.

But....

I'm not sure having your links (about) open a new window is such a good idea however. one of the nice things about a typical zencart layout is the easy navigation from finding information to ordering. Reducing the number of clicks and any thinking required is going to be important. Once I've navigated through the information pages and I'm getting interested - the only way to find where to place an order would be to find my other already opened window (if taskbar on autohide it would be unseen) if I click the tiny HOME button I'm caught back in the loop of information and can't order anything - SEE YA!

Otherwise crisp and clean looking.

rwment, you're right about people not caring about larger images of the logo. To be honest, I'd rather the logo not be zoomable - the only things I'd want to be enlargable would be the images of the CD's and the postcards. Your comment confirmed that, and what I might try to do is turn off image handler, dig into the code and try to make the link that enlarges the images conditional on product ID. That way, there wouldn't be a link for anything but the actual products.

wasana, one thing I should have clarified is that the link I provided was the home page to the shopping cart. People would get to it via links on my marketing web site http://www.LifeOnRecord.com.

If you start there instead of the cart, does your opinion about the new windows that open change? Thanks.

Wow. I really like the whole thing. Including the product. The way you have your site integrated with the cart is really good. The only single thing I would say, and it's a personal thing, is keep the windows opening in the same window. I hate having four windows open from one site. But that's it. That is seriously a great cart!!

Thanks for the comments ladysaat. The reason I had the links at the top open new windows was because if I didn't, and somebody clicked on the link during the purchase process, they'd lose their session (I think). But maybe I should re-think that...
