Seems to be a permission problem of some sort. Do your Hosting account Error logs give any clues?

For a fast resolution, might be best to get your Hoster involved with this problem.

The learning is in the doing.

Perhaps a minimalist install attempt? Do not enable admin or shop SSL, don't install phpBB, no demo data. If that goes through, add one thing at a time.

I do have all permissions one could have on that server and since the setup script won't let me get past the step where I can choose whether or not to integrate a phpbb, there is no way I could make a "minimum installation".

I quess, I will have to wait 'til V1.3.8 is ready.

In the meantime I will have to come up with a different shop solution, in case my client should get impatient... :-(
