Which versions work with ZC?

This question is basically a request for information:
What works and what doesn't with Zen Cart?

I installed the latest version of wamp5: WAMP5 1.7.0 with Apache 2.2.4 and PHP 5.2.1.
This one also has MySQL 5.0.27.
It also has an add-on that enables it to use PHP 4.4.5 (addon PHP4).
Will ZC work with this?

I have read in the manual that ZC will not work with MySQL 5.x. Is this true?

I read somewhere where zen cart is not optimized for php 5, but it should still work. Search the forum for php 5.

Everything else should be fine.

That shouldn't be a problem because wamp5 can work either on PHP 4 or 5, it can switch.
My problem is to ascertain if the manual's assertion that ZC does not work with MySql 5.x is true or not.
Do you know about that?
