You will find this in includes/languages/english/checkout_process.php

Jack,
There's no override files for this.
I'd recommend making a backup of the file first:

includes/classes/order.php

Re: Order Confirmation Mail : how to customize a little'

Hi ! thank you both for your answers.

Let me understand this well : if I make changes in the

includes/languages/english/checkout_process.php

I'm going to change this one aswell :

includes/classes/order.php ??

So, I should first save the order.php and then make my changes in the checkout_process.php ? right?

To add just some text may I add it at the bottom of the checkout_process.php before the ?> like I would do in the body of an html page ? probably not ...
May I add my text in one of those "define" perhaps ?

I don't know php so if you could tell me where I'm allowed to write that would be great!

Thanks a lot again!

To add just some text may I add it at the bottom of the checkout_process.php before the ?> like I would do in the body of an html page ? probably not ...No!No! In these files you stick the text in between the teeny quotes as shown below.

Here are the lines with text you may want to change:

define('EMAIL_THANKS_FOR_SHOPPING','Thanks for shopping with us today!');
define('EMAIL_DETAILS_FOLLOW','The following are the details of your order.');BE VERY careful to leave the ' ' marks on either end of your text.

You asked how to change the email, and this is the file that controls the confirmation email. I think maybe Mark misread as I believe he gave you the file that controls the order. I would not touch that one at all.

Re: Order Confirmation Mail : how to customize a little'

Hi! well it does work ! Obviously putting my text within those ' ' in the define does not really allow me to write it as I want it ...

So I would have another question : how can I place a line break within a define ? Is this possible ?
What I am trying to do is just to add beneath the payment method some extra information about the various payment methods , like by bank account number or so...just a simple text that appears on all confirmation emails, independently of the payment method that was chosen .

Thanks a lot for any additional information !

Find this Jack:
define('EMAIL_TEXT_PAYMENT_METHOD', 'Payment Method');

Just add the tag <br /> there is a space between the r and /
Example:
define('EMAIL_TEXT_PAYMENT_METHOD', 'Payment Method<br />Bank Account Number');

Re: Order Confirmation Mail : how to customize a little'

Hi and thanks for your help Haredo !
I had thought I had to put a <br/> but it didn't work ..I tried to write it like you said <br /> with a space between the "r" and the "/" but it still doesn't work and I get the following message :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /.../includes/languages/english/checkout_process.php on line **42

**do you know why, any ideas ?Is there another way to have a line break ?

Or more generally : what is the easiest way to add a few lines of text (with payment info for example) in the checkout_process.php ?

Thanks a lot for any help!

jack82:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /.../includes/languages/english/checkout_process.php on line 42

This means you have unmatched quotation marks in your file.
The proper syntax for a define statement is:

define('CONSTANT_NAME', 'contents go here');

Re: Order Confirmation Mail : how to customize a little'

Oops ! you are right , stupid mistake, thanks very much !

However, this :

haredo:

Find this Jack:
define('EMAIL_TEXT_PAYMENT_METHOD', 'Payment Method');

Just add the tag <br /> there is a space between the r and /
Example:
define('EMAIL_TEXT_PAYMENT_METHOD', 'Payment Method<br />Bank Account Number');

still doesn't work , it actualy doesn't do anything (at least in my case)...what am I doing wrong? and again does anyone know a easy method to add some text into the checkout_process.php file.

Adding my text between the quotation marks in a define, would be fine but I should at least be able to write it on several lines and there for I would need a line break ..

Again, many thanks for any help !

I would also like to edit the text in the ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL

Basically I would like to change this link or even ADD below it:

Detailed Invoice:
https://www.apeshop.com/index.php?main_page=account_history_info&order_id=1649

I would like to change the link to a different link to point to a better invoice in our account history area, so basically it has to have the ORDERID at the end?

how do I do it pls help??

ditto, I too would like to change the detailed invoice link. In my case the administrators are recieving confirmation of orders placed by managers. I have installed the modified admin module that limits admin access, and the edit order module that allows the admin to change order details. So I would like the confirmation email link to point from https://www.xxxxxx.com/index.php?ma...&order_id=1649 to the following
http://www.xxxxxx./admin/edit_orders.php?page=1&oID=8&action=edit

any help would be great on this!

I am having this same issue. Could it possibly be the way it is handled on the email client end?? For example, would \n; be a better alternative to <br />?

Just wandering if someone has tackled this little issue.
Thanks

Re: Order Confirmation Mail : how to customize a little'

Ok. to get the line break to show up in the email....

."\n".

for example...

define('EMAIL_THANKS_FOR_SHOPPING','Thanks for shopping with us today!'."\n".'We process orders during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm California time.');

Hope this helps!
