How to change html email background colors

How do I change the background colors of the "products" (#cccc99) and "address" (#e4e8f3) sections of HTML emails as well as change the Red/Pink divider bar (#ff6699)?

Some colors can be changed from within the email templates but not the ones listed above.

Edit the email template you wish to change in a text editor.
Search for .order-detail-area. Change to your requirements.
Search for .address-block. Change to your requirements.
Search for .comments. Change to your requirements.

Where are you saying to search for those variables? Can't find them in stylesheet.css or in the email templates.

The email templates are in folder /email/ off the root folder of the store. The stylesheets are embedded in the html. You need to open email_template_checkout.html or whichever one you wish to change, in a text editor; or open in firefox or similar, and view source.

I finally see how it works.:clap:

A lot of the color settings in the checkout template effect the other email templates that do not have all settings listed within their code... Such as the one I was working on.

I saw in a lot of other posts that people are asking for a dedicated email editor/control panel. Sure would be nice to have that to change the settings for emails instead of editing the code.
