Don't know myself off the top of my head, but remember that the specials link only shows in the categories sidebox when there are specials...look in there. :wink:

Thanks Ryk for pointing me in the right direction, I found the code I needed which I have listed below incase it helps someone else
$show_this = $db->Execute("select s.products_id from " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s where s.status= 1 limit 1");
if ($show_this->RecordCount() > 0)
//You have specials
