products viewed report

How accurate is this report? It's only showing a handful of products as having more than 2 views, whereas AWStats shows 150 visits in the last week. My products are commonly enough known (strength training equipment) that the main page shouldn't surprise them by the type of products it has, and the prices are good enough that I would expect them to look at some of the products.

Re: products viewed report

Each of the Product Types have code in the /page/something that is similar to:

    $sql = "update " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . "
            set        products_viewed = products_viewed+1
            where      products_id = '" . (int)$_GET['products_id'] . "'
            and        language_id = '" . (int)$_SESSION['languages_id'] . "'";

    $res = $db->Execute($sql);

The count is based on the product _info page not the sideboxes, centerboxes, listings, etc. but when the customer actually goes in to read the detail ...

Ajeh
I'am sorry but I posted in the wrong topic!!!!
Anyway here is the solution:

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=337142

The counter will be reset to "zero" but the list of products will still be there.

In myPHPadmin, in "products_description" what happens if I check only the "products_viewed" line and empty that? The list of products viewed will go away or everything? I am afraid to try if everything disappears !!!

Thanks, I already did that (so now all have a "zero") but I was wondering if it was possible to delate all the names too. But it is ok like that.

Re: products viewed report

The names are you products ... umm ... :unsure:

Perhaps you want to add a condition to the select statement where the products_viewed > 0 so you don't see the 0 viewed products?

Yes for "the names" I meant the products (sorry not to be clear).
Here is a screen shot of the page. As you can see is all set to zero now but I was wondering if it was possible to empty the page/s so no product viewed was appearing before to go "live", Same thing for the "best products purchased".
The products are real products that were used for all the tests so I would like to restart from blank pages.

Edit: done for the "best products purchased" from Admin>Store manager, all the products are gone, I have a blank page.

Re: products viewed report

The select pulls all products with their products_viewed stats ...

IF you do not want to see the 0 counts you need to alter the select statement in the report ...

  $products_query_raw = "select p.products_id, pd.products_name, pd.products_viewed, l.name from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd, " . TABLE_LANGUAGES . " l where p.products_id = pd.products_id and l.languages_id = pd.language_id order by pd.products_viewed DESC";

Re: products viewed report

Hi, can I set up to have viewed report on a daily or weekly basis, when I installed ZC have only 'viewed products report' the total from the moment I put the product?

The same goes for the 'sales report'.

Thanks :blush:

Thanks. That answered my question and gave me a giant chuckle. Some days when I am trying to find things on the admin page, they are right in front of my face but I don't see them. Perhaps I need to take more "peeks".
