Need to eliminate some white space

I am using the Classic Template as a starter with overrides. I and also using cat_tabs_V1.1a

I would like to eliminate some of the white space above and below the tabs.

I have made many changes to the stylesheet.css in my Custom folder. Am I missing a padding, margin, height or other setting? I would like to tighten only the space above and below the horizontal nav tabs.

NEXT ?

As well - Is there a way using cat_tabs_V1.1a or another similar add-on to fill in the rest of the space to the right of the tabs with a generic blank tab?

I would also like to use similar tabs on ALL the side boxes. Is there a way to edit this globally?
