No tax for a specified group?

My client wants his store to not calculate sales tax if users are in a "reseller" group. I can't seem to find a module to accomplish this, although it seems like it would be a common issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  1. Go to Admin>Customers>Group Pricing and add a group called Resellers, with a 0% discount.

  2. Go to Admin>Modules>Order Total, and either install, or if already installed, edit the group discount to not include taxes.

  3. When a customer signs up, go to Admin>Customers and edit the customers details. At the bottom of this page, you will find in the Options section, Discount Pricing Group. Set that to Resellers for that customer.

There you have it...that customer will have no taxes added to his/her order.

Teach them to shop and they will shop today;
Teach them to Zen and they will OWN a shop tomorrow!

Hi,

I'm new in Zen cart.

Tax will not be calculated for Wholesale Clients.

I have created one form for wholesale retailers. It has many things like Name, Address, state, Zipcode, email, Phone, Tax-ID.

If customer enters the above details and Tax-ID then the Tax will not be calculated for this wholesale Clients.

Can u give me any tips for the above issue.

karthi, same instructions as above.....just name your group "Wholesale", or something like that, instead of "Resellers". That should do it.

Teach them to shop and they will shop today;
Teach them to Zen and they will OWN a shop tomorrow!

get em fast,

i tried this and it doesn't seem to work. in-state resellers still get charged sales tax...

Hi everyone, I have the same question, and also the discount is not working for me. Here are my current settings:

Group Discount

This module is installed
true

Sort Order
290

Include Shipping
false

Include Tax
false

Re-calculate Tax
None

Tax Class
Taxable Goods

I then have a grou called Wholesale, which gives a 50% discount. When I go to check out, it still shows the tax amount due. Thanks for the help!

Did you get this resolved as I am using the wholesale module and want to try this no tax feature?
